about

M64

When Bart Wirtz, alto player and producer of the album, started working on Ubiquitus M81, as a result of the spontaneous group improvisation that happened while recording the piece, he ended up completely deconstructing the original form and idea of the piece written by Rolf Delfos. The spiral shaped M64 (Black Eye Galaxy) rotates in two different directions at the same time. As a result of this, still to this day new stars are formed at the centre of it. Tenor solo by Mete Erker.
